The 6 inch diameter is noticeably chunkier than the old pole it replaced, and my cat took to it right away. Sturdy wrapping too, no loose strands after a few weeks of daily scratching.
The M8 holes lined up perfectly with my old base, took me maybe five minutes to swap out. My cat was scratching it before I even finished tightening the top screw. Solid 20 inch height too, fits the corner spot just right.
