Swapped this 21 inch pole onto my cat tower after the old one got shredded, and the 6 inch diameter is way sturdier than what I had before. The M8 threads went in smooth on both ends and my cat was back to scratching within minutes.
The M8 screw holes lined up perfectly with my existing base so the swap took maybe five minutes. Six inches around is thicker than the pole it replaced, and my cat wraps both front paws around it now instead of sliding off. Sisal feels tight and evenly wound, no loose strands so far.
The 6 inch diameter is way sturdier than the flimsier poles on my old tree, and the M8 holes lined up perfectly with the existing hardware. Took me maybe ten minutes to swap it in and my cat was already climbing it before I finished tightening the screws.
