The M8 threading lined up perfectly with the old base, so the swap took maybe two minutes. My cat went straight for it and the 5 inch diameter gives her enough room to really dig in. Sturdy little pole.
Swapped this 10 inch pole into my cat tree to replace a shredded one, and the M8 holes lined up perfectly with the existing screws. The sisal wrap is tight and dense, so my cats went right back to scratching instead of ignoring it. Solid replacement piece if you just need the one section.
The 5 inch diameter is perfect for my big guy's paws, way sturdier than the flimsy 3 inch posts he used to ignore. Screwed right onto the existing M8 holes on his tree in about two minutes, no wobble at all.
